Some may not like it, or they absolutely love it. The Mercedes-Benz R 63 AMG was an extremely rare niche product that is often quite underestimated.

The R-Class itself was already a very interesting creation. Back then, Mercedes had the ability to create cars that didn't quite exist in any category. The R-Class is a prime example of this. It's not a proper SUV, it's not a proper van, and it's not even a sedan. Nevertheless, it offers something from all three categories. The entire shape and lines are more reminiscent of a wagon, but it's a bit taller, wider, and longer than a typical wagon. It had seven seats, which is quite a lot. What's astonishing is that Mercedes also built a very exclusive AMG version, limited to around 200 units. They are so rare that they almost have a cult status.

The R 63 AMG is equipped with a powerful 6.2-liter V8 engine. This engine produces impressive performance figures, typically over 500 horsepower and around 630 Newton-meters of torque. With that, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in five seconds.
To effectively put the enormous power of the R 63 AMG on the road, it has the Mercedes-AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system. This allows for excellent traction and stability, especially in challenging road conditions.
In the R 63 AMG, a 7-speed automatic transmission was used. This transmission enables quick gear changes and smooth power delivery.
