Tesla pulled it off again, surprising the automotive world with the new Tesla Roadster. Tesla used the unveiling of its electric semi truck to show the new Roadster. The design is clean and fits well in the line-up of the current Tesla models, so that was not the big surprise. But the specs are abnormal and out of this world! Based on what we know today, it will be the first production car that will accelerate from 0-62 mp/h (0-100 km/h) in less then 2 seconds.
The car is full of new innovations and is breaking new grounds for the American car builder. The specs are out of this world and besides the 1.9 seconds 0-60 mp/h acceleration in 1.9 seconds, the Roadster will be able to run a quarter-mile in 8.9 seconds. The top speed is according to Musk "above 250 mph". And the Roadster will have a range of 620 miles, enough to drive from LA to San Fransisco and back.
