Strange sighting: Purple Ferrari 360 Spider

The most common colors on a Ferrari 360 Spider are yellow and red. These colors give the Ferrari a sporty appearance. That is something which can't be said about the color on the 360 Spider in the following spot. U.S. spotter hertj94 spotted a purple Ferrari 360 Spider in the town of Barrington in Illinois. The color does not make the Ferrari look sporty at all. Ridiculous is more like it.

Although the Ferrari 360 Spider looks rather new the model is at least eight years old. The model is already succeeded by the F430 Spider and the 458 Spider. Despite its age the car can still compete with modern supercars. Under the bonnet we find a 3,6 liter V8 which produces 400 bhp without the help of a turbo or compressor. A sprint from 0-60 miles per hour is done in 4,4 seconds. If you keep the pedal to the metal you will reach a top speed of 180 miles per hour.

The owner of this purple 360 Spider might be the CEO of Cabinets To Go, a producer for wood in kitchens. The brand color of this company is purple which might explain the extraordinary color on the Ferrari. The original color of the Ferrari was yellow, which can be seen on the headlights. What do you think is a better color for the Ferrari? Yellow or purple?
