Spot of the day Portugal

Today’s featured spot of the day article originates out of Portugal and features one of my personal favorites, the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione. This car is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful modern cars ever build. Although the lines are made to resemble the Alfa’s of the 1950’s and 1960’s.

Released back in 2003 at the Frankfurt Motor Show as a concept car this car already made quite the impression. It took them 4 years to confirm to the public that 500 examples would actually be produced. Powered by a 4.7 liter V8 engine build by Ferrari and equipped with a 6-speed automated manual this car can hold its own as a sports car.

In 2005 the Spider concept was introduced and production started in 2009. Just like with the Coupé, Maserati was in charge of building the cars, another 500 spiders were build totaling the 8C numbers to 1000.

A huge congrats to Supercarrosemportugal for claiming the spot of the day and for capturing this beauty out on the road, and of course a huge thanks from us since this is yet another car we had not seen on this site before!
