Evyerone was very happy with the new SRT Viper. But despite this, everyone is still waiting for the specifications and details of this American monster. Waiting is finally over, we can now say it official: the American brute is back!
While most of the car manufacturers are downsizing we don’t see this at SRT. They gave the new SRT Viper a handmade 8.4 liters V10 engine. The engine is improved compared with the old V10. The result is 640 bhp and 814 Nm of torque. The rev-limiter is at 6.200 rpm. The car has no automatic transmission or high-tech DSG-gearbox to help the driver. You just have to do with the good-old clutching to help yourself through the six gears.
Those who handle the car very well are able to reach 62 mph in a bit more than 3.0 seconds. A Quarter-mile can be done in 11.5 seconds. The top speed of the car is around 206 mph. You don’t have to be afraid that the car has no brakes, you will decelerate from 62 to 0 in only 32 meters.
The exterior has always been the most outstanding aspect of the Viper. This isn’t any different with the new SRT Viper. A beautiful timeless combination of American styling with modern technique. A lot of carbon fiber is used to reduce the weight of the car. The roof, hood and doors are made out of carbon fiber. The car has the well-known dramatic styling with big air intakes. This fits perfect with this brutal American!
The car will be available in six colours. Adrenaline Red, Venom Black, Bright White, Gunmetal Pearl, Race Yellow and Shadow Blue Pearl. The SRT Viper GTS model has two extra colours, Stryker Red Tri-Coat Pearl and GTS Blue. The other difference between the SRT Viper and the SRT Viper GTS is the more advanced technique which will be very useful on the track.
The prices of the car? This car will be a real success in the United States. The SRT Viper will be available from 97,395 U.S. Dollars and the 2013 SRT Viper GTS model will be available from 120,395 U.S. Dollars.
