For many rally fanatics the eighties were the most epic era in the history of rallying. After just five years the Group B rally cars were banned from the championship because they had such big risks. Our colleagues of AutoFans.be made a rendering based on the new Audi RS7, to show how a Group B-car would look nowadays.

The photographer Fréderic, working for our Belgian colleagues, thinks the new RS7 looks vulgar. Due the word ‘Quattro’ in the front grille he had to think of the eighties, which gave him inspiration for this rendering. He made the rendering and really gave his creativity the free hand. The use of colours, sponsors and the lights are nice references to the Group B-cars of Audi. The rendering surely looks nice, but the status of the Audi Quattro will never be outshined by any car. As an extra to this article we present you the hour-long report about rallying back in the eighties.
