Porsche is the most successful manufacturer in the Volkswagen Group. The company keeps on growing and keeps on getting more and more popular. Porsche has two goals, they want to be the most sporty manufacturer in the segment and they want to keep on improving their sales. Maybe they will even come up with more models.
We know that Porsche is trying to increase their sales. The recently introduced Macan will break Porsche's sales records. This doesn't mean that Porsche thinks they have a complete range of models. The company can still build cars for a few other segments and they're now making their plans. They have several options.
At this moment, downsizing is very important. Porsche is testing a four-cylinder engine which will be introduced in the Boxster, Cayman and 991. But there is more, Porsche is still thinking of a cheaper roadster, the 718. This will make the brand Porsche more accessible for car fanatics. The introduction of this model is still uncertain. What does seem certain is that Porsche won't come with a cheaper sedan placed just under the Panamera.
Another new model they're considering is a model between the 911 and the 918 Spyder. A competitor for Ferrari with more power than the 911 and a more Gran Turismo like character. With this model, Porsche can revive the Porsche 968. Ferrari's FF will be its biggest competitor. Porsche has been talking about this car for years already.
In the next few years, all current models will get a facelift. Varying from the Boxster to the Panamera. Next to that, they will offer more versions of the models. The focus at the development of the current models is the use of lightweight materials, less fuel consumption and more sporty performance. Porsche keeps hanging on to their goal to be the most sporty manufacturer in their segment.
