Mercedes-Benz kept us waiting but it's finally here. The fastest and most luxurious flagship they can offer is named the S 65 AMG and this car isn't only bloody fast, it's also state of the art with the newest technology on board. The six liters V12 is improved and this has a very positive effict on the performance and the consumption of the car.
Let's start with the technological innovations. Mercedes-Benz developed the Magic Body Control and the Road Surface Scan, especailly for the S-Class. These techniques have to adjust the suspension to a preventive setting for what's coming up on the road. This results in less tilting and it makes you feel less of all the speed bumps you'll find on your way. The new AMG isn't only harder, but it's also friendlier for it's passengers.
The six liters V12, which is equipped with two turbos, produces 630 hp and a stunning 1000 Nm of torque. This makes you sprint to 100 kph in 4.3 seconds and makes you soon reach a limited top speed of 250 kph. Mercedes-Benz will probably soon come up with a Performance Package which increases the top speed. This performance comes together with a consumption of 11.9 liters per 100 kilometers, which makes the engine meet the Euro 6 regulations. Under the bodywork, the car lost dsome weight although this car still isn't a light weight. Luckily, the car has an option for ceramic brakes to make you stop in no time.
The official press release of this car kept us waiting for a long time. This car was already spotted in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, where Mercedes-Benz shot the promotional video. The S 65 AMG will be introduced in Tokyo and Los Angeles, on the motor shows that will take place soon.
