Mercedes-AMG GT RS will be a party favor

Mercedes-AMG will celebrate its 50th Anniversary next year. A good reason for a party of course, and they will celebrate it with a special edition of the Mercedes-AMG GT. Back in June we wrote about the AMG GT R and that we can expect a GT RS next year. Meanwhile we have received a few new details.

The Mercedes-AMG GT RS will be AMG's party favor and it will raise the power of the AMG GT to an amazing 605 hp. The 4.0 liter V8 with b-turbo should easily be able to achieve that, as we've already seen with the new Mercedes-AMG E 63 S. The AMG GT RS will most likely be limited to 50 copies and it is being developed in collaboration with four time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton. He will have at least some contribution. The AMG GT RS's body style will look a little more aggressive than the AMG GT R. The larger rear wing and the dive planes on the front bumper are the contributing factors. We can see those new additions on the pictures below. This is the AMG GT R(S) that we saw multiple times driving at the Nürburgring right after the launch of the AMG GT R.
