McLaren doubles growth in China in 2013

This year is a good year for the luxury and sporty cars in China. All over the country, new dealerships are openend and the sales keep growing despite the world-wide crisis. For McLaren, 2013 is a great year in China and they expect to double their growth this year.

Mirko Bordiga, regional director of McLaren Asia, is very positive about the first semester. Eventually, they expect that the Asian market will be 25 percent market share of their world-wide sales. This year, four new dealerships are opened and another four will be opened in the first quarter of 2014. According to McKinsey & Co, the sales of luxury cars in Asia will pass the United States in 2016. The Chinese government wants to add another tax of 20 percent on cars with a price above $278,000.-, according to McLaren this won’t have any influence on the sales for the next years. Next year, up to 4,000 or 5,000 luxury cars will be sold. So far no reason to worry for these car manufacturers.
