Maserati Levante is more important than ever before

Maserati Levante is more important than ever before

Next year is an important year for Maserati. Disappointing sales make the upcoming Levante more important than it ever was before.

In a conversation with Autocar, Giulio Pastore, Maserati's brand manager, stated that the success of the Levante is essential for the continuing Maserati. They're aiming to sell 70.000 cars in 2018 and that's impossible with their current range of models. That's why Maserati spends so much time on the development of the SUV which was already introduced as a concept model in 2011.

Next year, at the Geneva Motor Show, Maserati will introduced the Levante. Meanwhile, they're working on the Alfieri, the ultimate expression of Maserati's DNA. But we don't know when they will introduced this model. Actually, they need to renew the GranTurismo because the lifecycle of this model is way too long, a problem that Aston Martin also has with their DB9. It's important to come up with something new every once in a while and that's probably why the Italians won't sell as much cars as they would want to.
