Lamborghini's CEO expects Urus SUV concept will go into production

The Lamborghini Urus has already shown up on our frontpage a few times already. The second SUV by Lamborghini – after the LM002 – looks way more sporty than its iconic predecessor. The design is a piece of art because every line shows us that you’re dealing with a real Lamborghini. Stephan Winkelmann, CEO of Lamborghini, said that he’s expecting that the Urus will be produced. Does that mean that we can really expect the car?

We already know a lot about the Urus. The car will get a V8 under the hood, which, thanks to two turbos, produces 600 hp. Powerful SUVs like the Mercedes-Benz ML 63 AMG, Porsche Cayenne Turbo S and Range Rover Sport will get a new competitor from Italy. The SUV will be ready in 2016 or 2017, which is almost three years from now. Winkelmann also said that he’s expecting the car to be a successful model. Yearly, he wants to build three thousand copies of the car. This is way more than the more than two thousands cars Lamborghini yearly builds.
