Monaco consistently delivers top spots

The summer is in full swing, and Monaco continues to deliver non-stop headlines, just like this breathtaking dark red Chiron Super Sport.

When walking around Monaco, the likelihood of spotting a Bugatti is quite high. It becomes particularly interesting when the Bugatti owner chooses an exceptionally beautiful color, just like this one.

With a low front end, a special aerodynamic shape on the sides, and an elongated rear for peak performance, it is clear at first glance that the new Bugatti Chiron Super Sport is uncompromisingly designed for optimal aerodynamic performance. Bugatti engineers developed the new hyper sports car for top speed while also emphasizing luxury and comfort.

For the streamlined body of the Chiron Super Sport, Bugatti developed a new vehicle design with optimized aerodynamics. The new Bugatti Chiron Super Sport is an uncompromising reincarnation of the Bugatti design mantra "form follows performance." From the front splitter to the rear diffuser, every centimeter of its skin is designed for top speed.

At speeds above 420 km/h, a vehicle must provide sufficient downforce with minimal aerodynamic drag. The forces of lift acting on the body at 440 km/h are immense. The body of the Chiron Super Sport generates tremendous downforce to counteract this lift and perfectly balance the forces. The elongated rear, known as the longtail, gives the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport new proportions and a unique aesthetic. An optional new horizontal color division visually stretches the proportions of the Chiron Super Sport even further and makes the hyper sports car appear even lower. For aerodynamic reasons, the rear has grown by about 25 centimeters to maintain laminar flow along the body for as long as possible. Bugatti designers also increased the diffuser cross-section by pulling up the rear edge of the diffuser, thereby reducing the rear surface area by 44 percent. This significantly reduces the generated wake and wind resistance – factors that would otherwise slow down the vehicle. A pleasant advantage of these technical modifications is that the rear receives even better proportions, appearing both wider and lower. The long tail helps to maintain laminar airflow along the body for as long as possible.

Even from a distance, the Chiron Super Sport is unmistakable due to its newly positioned exhaust arrangement. To enhance the effect of the diffuser and give it more space, Bugatti has moved the usually central exhaust system to the side and oriented the pipes vertically. The exhaust system also sounds deeper and fuller.
Therefore, the front must also be perfect to achieve seamless airflow over the body. On the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport, features like side air curtains next to the air intakes improve the airflow from the front to the wheel arches, keeping it as close to the side of the vehicle as possible. The new focused expression with angled headlights and modern design language perfectly matches the aggressive character of the Chiron Super Sport. The nine exhaust vents on each fender are not only a reference to the Bugatti EB 110 Super Sport – they also serve to release air pressure from the front wheel arches, creating streamlined downforce at the front axle. Additional outlets behind the front wheel arches also contribute to balancing the aerodynamic loads.
