Next year, in 2014, Goodwood will celebrate its twentieth anniversary. But today, we will also have something great for the Ferrari fanatics: they can admire the beautiful Ferrari’s of this year’s edition. We see old classics, new models and special one-off’s.
One of these special one-off’s is the Ferrari SP12 EC. This unique model, owned by Eric Clapton is based on the legendary Ferrari 512 Berlinetta Boxer, a car which was recently highlighted on our frontpage. This is one of the most rare cars on Goodwood, this car, based on the Ferrari 458 Italia is really unique, only one copy is built. On Goodwood, this car was driven by Marc Gené, who also drove Fernando Alonso’s F10 Formula 1 race car from 2010. This car shows the impressive motorsport history of the Italian company.
Ferrari also brought some new models to Goodwood. We don’t see any big scoops but we do see some things we need to mention. The F12berlinetta was present at Goodwood and next to that, we found a ice white ‘Tailor Made’ Ferrari 458 Spider and a Ferrari FF with a new option: a glass panorama roof. ‘Tailor Made’ is the personalization program of Ferrari, a department of Ferrari which makes your Ferrari according to your personal wishes.
Fanatics of classic Ferrari’s also have a good time at Goodwood. There was a ’55 Ferrari 250 GT Speciale, this car was driven by actress Ingrid Bergman. The car was personalized to her personal wishes, as we can see at the colour: Grigio Ingrid. Near that car we find a ’53 250 Europa Pinin Farina in a special colour, Bordeaux. This car has a white contrasting roof. It was originally built for Battista Pininfarina, the founder of Ferrari’s design partner Carrozzeria Pininfarina. Eventually, a ’65 330GT 2+2 Berlinetta was auctioned, a car which was originally owned by John Lennon. He bought the car in the same month that he passes his drivers test and that’s the exact same month the Beatles recorded their album ‘Ticket to Ride’. This car was auctioned for 625,000 Euros.
