From ferris wheel to GTR with a halo

It's a relatively interesting story of how this GTR came to be without a windshield but with a massive halo, and it was created by a person who usually designs Ferris wheels. If you're intrigued, then read on.

The person responsible for this GTR Speedlegend is Ronald Bussink, a well-known manufacturer of Ferris wheels worldwide. In the past 15 years, he has built a total of 60 Ferris wheels. However, it seems that designing these giant wheels was no longer enough for him. As it turns out, he's also a car enthusiast and even drives an SLR Stirling Moss himself. He began by disassembling a Mercedes-AMG GT R C190. The crucial part he removed from the car was the front windshield. He then designed a halo, which we are familiar with from Formula One, and installed it lengthwise over the car. It may look a bit unusual to some.

The GTR Speedlegend shares the same specifications as the standard GT R, except for the weight. It is powered by a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine producing 577 horsepower (HP). This allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just about 3.5 seconds. The AMG GT R Speedlegend features a rear-wheel steering system that enhances agility. At low speeds, the rear wheels turn in the opposite direction of the front wheels, increasing maneuverability. At higher speeds, they turn in the same direction as the front wheels to improve stability. Furthermore, only five Speedlegends have been produced, making them incredibly rare. One is green, one is blue, one is yellow, one is black, and one is white. Here at Autogespot, we've already spotted three of the five, and we hope to see the yellow and white ones as well.
By the way, Ronald Bussink not only modified this GTR but also the well-known AMG GT Red Pig, of which only five were also transformed.
