The F12 the successor of the 599 GTB and the predecessor of the 812 Superfast. Ferrari has produced a long line of Front engine rear wheel drive V12 GT cars and this might be one of my favorite models. It is also the legendary car that made Jeremy Clarkson utter the words: It could use a little less power. Who would’ve thought.

The car was introduced to the public at the 2012 Geneva motorshow and now 8 years later Horse-power managed to get SOTD with his upload.

An entirely new V12 was constructed to power this car and boy does it do its job. 740 BHP and a maximum torque of 690NM. 80% of tis torque is already at your disposal at just 2500RPM. It was also voted International engine of the year in 2013. When I visited the Ferrari museum in Maranello there was actually a F12 engine there which was cut straight in half so you could see the inside which was pretty cool and shows just how proud they are of the engine.

A few one-offs have been produced based on the F12 Berlinetta such as the F12 TRS wich took inspiration from the 1957 250 Testa Rossa and has a Barchetta bodystyle. Although it is presented as a one off two cars are know to exists and both of these cars have been spotted on the site. What a dream to one day find one of these cars.

Another one off wich is truly a one off is the Ferrari F12 SP America. A Coupe based one off of the F12 wich was completed in 2014 by the Ferrari Special Projects Programme. It features custom bodywork including uniqe vents and a redesigned hood. The car was commissioned by Danny Wegman who is the CEO of Wegans Food Markets.

It took our spotters 4 years to track this car down but sooner or later it will end up on the site and spotter Zackistan was the one to give us this amazing car.

A few more special models were made but I will highlight one more. The Touring Berlinetta Lusso. 5 examples were produced and so far 2 have made their way to the site. Each body panel of the car is from handbeaten aluminium so no 2 cars are the same. I think it is pretty amazing that cars this rare keep finding their way to the site.

Of course Ferrari wouldn’t be Ferrari if there was not a track focused version so in 2015 the F12TDF was launched, 799 units where produced following the legacy of Mr Enzo to always produce one less model than the market desires.

Like I said there are a few more models which derive from the F12 but I already got carried away writing this “simple” spot of the day Article.

West congrats on getting another spot of the day with this Beautiful F12!
