Extraordinary color combo on the 812 Competizione Aperta

The 812 Competizione Aperta is a very cool car. Deliveries are in full swing, and they are frequently spotted. This particular one is quite special and beautifully configured.

A rather unique color combination can be seen on this Ferrari 812 Competizione A. White combined with yellow is quite uncommon, although it looks pretty cool.

The Ferrari 812 Competizione A boasts the most exciting V12 engine in the automotive world, based on the multi-award-winning engine of the 812 Superfast. The result is a naturally aspirated engine with 830 PS, combining impressive performance with electrifying power and the unmistakable soundtrack that Ferrari V12 purists know all too well. To increase the engine's power, which shares the same 6.5-liter displacement as the 812 Superfast's V12, several areas have been significantly redesigned to achieve a new record while optimizing the intake system's fluid dynamics and combustion and reducing internal friction. The maximum rev limit is now 9,500 rpm, providing a feeling of progressive and limitless power and acceleration, accompanied by a rising crescendo of torque delivery. This achievement was made possible by the careful redesign of key engine components such as connecting rods, pistons, crankshaft, and valvetrain. The titanium connecting rods are 40% lighter than their steel counterparts while maintaining the same mechanical strength. Furthermore, the piston pins have been coated with diamond-like carbon (DLC) to reduce friction, positively impacting performance, fuel efficiency, and wear. These modifications are combined with a newly balanced crankshaft, which is also 3% lighter than the previous version. However, the most significant improvements lie in the valvetrain and cylinder heads, both of which have been completely redesigned. The camshafts (now coated with DLC) act on the valve stems through DLC-coated steel finger followers, derived from Ferrari's F1 experience and specifically developed for this engine to offer a higher lift profile.

To ensure proper breathing of the engine across the entire RPM range, the intake system has been redesigned: both the intake manifold and plenum are now more compact to reduce the overall length of the ducts and deliver more power at high RPMs. At the same time, the torque curve at all engine speeds is optimized through a system of intake ducts with variable geometry. This allows for continuous adjustment of the intake tract's length, adapting it to the firing sequence to maximize dynamic charge in the cylinder. The result is an engine that revs up to its limit with tremendous speed, without dropping off towards the redline.
To reduce friction and mechanical losses, thereby improving the overall efficiency of the engine, the engineers developed a new variable-displacement oil pump that continuously adjusts the oil pressure throughout the engine's operating range. Another important point to highlight is the use of less viscous oil (Shell Helix 5W40) compared to previous V12 engines and an enhancement in the flow rate throughout the entire oil sump.
