Dodge Viper is nearing its end, and these are the closers

How the 2016 Viper ACR can be street legal is a good question. This car is so brutal and powerful and a true monster on the road. It is a worthy competitor of the Porsche 991 GT3 (RS). But due to the lack of sales, the Viper is nearing the end of production. Will it come back? Rumor has it that in three years Dodge will bring out a completely new version of the Viper, but these are just rumors.

ACR stands for American Club Racer, it is the track version of the Viper that has been on and off the market since 1998. The ACR has been around for quite a while and the latest of the current Viper has been on the market since September 2016. The latest Viper ACR honors its long-standing legacy as the ultimate street-legal race car through significant aerodynamic and suspension upgrades, new Carbon Ceramic brakes with six-piston calipers and high-performance tires specifically designed for ACR.

Powered by iconic, hand-built 8.4-liter V-10 engine rated at 645 horsepower and 600 lb.-ft. of torque – the most torque of any naturally aspirated sports-car engine in the world. And if that is all enough you can add the ACR Extreme Aero Package that delivers nearly 1 ton of peak downforce at top speed through massive adjustable dual-element carbon fiber rear wing, rear carbon fiber diffuser, unique SRT hood with removable louvers, detachable extension for the front splitter and additional dive planes. It is an amazing car and it will be missed for those that are a fan of muscle cars.
