A few years ago BMW unveiled the i8 Spyder as a concept car. Meanwhile, chairman Harald Krüger confirmed that this car might be taken into production and that this will probably happen soon.
The BMW i8 is perfect for driving around without a roof although we might lose the wing doors. Of couse there's the possibility BMW will keep these doors just like we see with the McLaren Spider versions. The concept got the name i8 Concept Spyder so if you ask us, i8 Spyder makes the most sense. Engine-wise nothing will change, besides the fact that the car will gain a few kilograms of weight.
