Bentley celebrates with limited editions for North-America

Limited Bentleys are the order of the day at this British car manufacterer. These are specially made to celebrate special occasions and events. Now, Bentley introduced a model specially for North-America, the Le Mans Limited Edition.

This package is available for the Continental GT(C) V8 and W12, but also for the Mulsanne. But what’s the celebration for? This year, it’s ten years ago Bentley won the 24-Hours of Le Mans. Also, it’s 90 years ago Bentley took part in the race for the first time. Six unique models will be built, each named after a driver. These are: John Duff, Dudley Benjafield, Woolf Barnato, Tim Birkin, Glen Kidston and Guy Smith. 48 Copies are built of each edition, which makes 288 copies in total.

What makes this model recognizable? At the exterior, special aluminium logo’s can be found behind the wheelarches, special alloy wheels and sport exhausts. In the interior, logo’s can be found everywhere, like special logo’s remodeled in the seats and a plaquette with a serial number of the version in case, which is described below.

John Duff Edition:
The first 'Bentley boy' to win Le Mans, back in 1924. The year before, he finished fourth.

Dudley Benjafield Edition:
Dudley Benjafield was an very active racing driver, he did it just for the thrill of it. Winner of Le Mans 1927.

Woolf Barnato Edition
Is seen as the best racing driver ever to drive for Bentley. Won Le Mans in 1928, 1929 and 1930.

Tim Birkin Edition
Old fighting piloot with an big character. Also won in 1929 and 1930.

A real adventurer, brave and without fear. He won Le Mans in 1930.

Guy Smith Edition
On the moment the last winner for Bentley. Drove the Speed 8 at the Twelve Hours of Sebring and won Le Mans back in 2003, he was the person pointed out to drive the car over the finish line.
