Aston Martin Hybrid Hydrogen Rapide S is environmental friendly!

On the moment of speaking, the Rapide S is Aston Martins fastest four-door saloon. With 558 bhp from a big six liter V12 it isn’t a part of the growing segment of eco-friendly vehicles. Now, the Brits prove us wrong with their Hybrid Hydrogen Rapide S, a Rapide developed in a partnership with hydrogen-expert Alset Global. The extraordinary was spotted on the same place as where it set a new record, Nürburg.

This Rapide S is actually the first hydrogen powered car which did a CO2-free lap on the Nordschleife. Next to that, the Rapide will take part in the 24 hour race of the Nürburgring, the ADAC Zurich Nürburgring 24 Hours. The Rapide can drive on both 100% petrol as well as 100% hydrogen, as well as a combination of both. Four tanks give space to 3.5 kilos of hydrogen which will be filled instantly on the 19th and 20th of May. Aston Martin hasn’t revealed the action range of the tanks, but during the race, this car will also drive on normal petrol. Of course than the car isn’t completely CO2-friendly anymore, but for Aston Martin it’s an experiment to show the knowledge of Aston Martin, as well as the possibilities of hydrogen powered cars. Despite all this effort, the chance of the use of this technique on production is very small.
