When you catch sight of a Porsche 918 Spyder on the road, it's typically silver. So, it's quite special when you come across one in red. Only a very few 918s were painted in red, and we're talking about a number below 50 units.

This beautiful specimen was seen in Darien in the USA. Of course, a car like this doesn't just roam around alone; it had a considerable entourage consisting of an Aventador, a Ferrari 360, a GT3RS, and a McLaren 675 LT. The 918 is undoubtedly the highlight of this group, and not just because it's about twice as expensive as most of the other cars.

The Porsche 918 Spyder is a plug-in hybrid supercar powered by both a V8 gasoline engine and two electric motors. The total system output is an impressive 887 horsepower. The V8 engine alone delivers about 608 horsepower, while the two electric motors contribute an additional 279 horsepower. The 918 Spyder can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in about 2.6 seconds, truly impressive for a hybrid vehicle. The top speed is around 340 km/h, making it one of the fastest production cars. The 918 Spyder can also be operated purely in electric mode, with an electric-only range of about 30 kilometers, suitable for short emission-free trips. To maximize performance, the design emphasizes lightweight construction, using carbon fiber and other light materials to reduce overall weight.
The production of the Porsche 918 Spyder began in 2013 and ended in 2015. Only 918 units were manufactured, making it a limited and coveted collector's item.
