A Valkyrie test vehicle is discovered at the Nürburgring

Before a sports car hits the road, various tests are conducted on the streets. But when it's a sports car, it's almost a rite of passage to test it on the Nürburgring. Even though the Valkyrie is already being delivered, we still catch glimpses of a test car every now and then.

The reason for conducting such test drives, even though the car is already being delivered, is quite straightforward. The car is still completely new and conceals many minor issues. Numerous technical aspects still require testing, and in the event of any errors occurring, a recall can be initiated to retrofit all vehicles. The Nürburgring is a renowned racetrack in Germany, situated in the Eifel region near the village of Nürburg. It's located approximately 70 kilometers southwest of Cologne. The track was inaugurated in 1927 and was initially designed as a testing ground and venue for motorsport events. It consists of two main parts: the Nordschleife ("Northern Loop") and the more modern Grand Prix circuit ("GP-Strecke"). The Nordschleife is a legendary and demanding track, famed for its long length (around 20.8 kilometers) and challenging curves. It has often been referred to as the "Green Hell" and was considered one of the world's most dangerous racetracks.

The Nordschleife of the Nürburgring is renowned for its quick lap times and record attempts. Many automobile manufacturers test their vehicles there, striving to set records for production cars – just like this Valkyrie. Over the years, the Nürburgring has hosted a variety of motorsport events, including Formula 1, the 24 Hours of Nürburgring, Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM), and much more. The Grand Prix circuit of the Nürburgring is approximately 5.1 kilometers long. The Nordschleife also offers so called "Touristenfahrten" allowing regular drivers to navigate the track during specific times. This presents a unique opportunity for car enthusiasts to experience the challenges of the track firsthand.
