This is the very first sighting of the W16 Mistral. So far, only the show car without an engine and transmission had been seen at exhibitions, but with this test car, the beginning of the end is marked.

The W16 Mistral is set to be the last engine of its kind from Bugatti, limited to 99 units. However, it will still take some time before the first one is built. The first deliveries are planned between summer and autumn of 2024. Since the introduction of the Veyron in 2005, the W16 engine has been the beating heart of every Bugatti. The road car that concludes the W16 era was always meant to be something special - exclusive, elegant, and powerful. It has to be the very best of its kind. But we expect nothing less from Bugatti; otherwise, their vehicles wouldn't sell so well. In fact, there have been no open versions from Bugatti since the Veyron, so the engineers decided to create a completely new open design based on the Chiron.

The W16 Mistral is based on the definitive 1,600-horsepower version of the W16 engine, first used in the Chiron Super Sport 300+. It offers a performance like no other open car before. In both design and technology, it is entirely bespoke. The existing monocoque was not simply cut off above the A-pillars to make room for the new open design; instead, it was revised and redesigned to create a more rounded silhouette without compromising performance. The W16 Mistral has 1,600 horsepower and utilizes the same engine that propelled the Chiron Super Sport 300+ to a world record speed of 304.773 miles per hour in 2019. Its only goal is to once again become the fastest roadster in the world.
Only 99 units of the Bugatti W16 Mistral will be built, priced at 5 million euros net, with deliveries set to begin in 2024. The entire production of the W16 Mistral is already sold out.
