A new Restomod car shows up in Monaco

Restomod cars are all the rage. Almost every car with a reputation is getting its modern successor that looks almost identical. And now, yet another such car has surfaced. It's meant to remind us of the legendary 250 SWB, and indeed, it looks exactly like one.

It's difficult to pinpoint which car was the first Restomod. They come from many different brands, and the production numbers are always very limited. For instance, we recently saw a report about the Kimeras, which pay homage to the legendary 037. In the realm of Lancia, there's a company that's resurrecting the Lancia Stratos in a modern form. And not too long ago, we witnessed the ZEROACENTO Automobili taking on the Ferrari 288 GTO. Of course, everyone is familiar with Singer, a brand that's been highly successful in this space. The essence behind Restomod cars is that you essentially have a high-tech car that looks like a vintage or youngtimer. People love it, and more and more cars of this kind are entering the market.

However, this one is new to us. It's the RML Short Wheelbase, spotted in Monaco. The most significant changes were made to the headlights and the interior. The headlights have been replaced with state-of-the-art LED lights, and the interior has been completely revamped. They've limited production to just 30 units, and it comes with a price tag of £1,350,000, plus taxes.
Powered by a magnificent Ferrari V12 with 485 horsepower up front and paired with a six-speed manual transmission with an exposed gear lever, it promises pure driving pleasure.
Inside, it's not just the exposed gear lever that catches your eye, but also the clean and understated use of premium leather throughout. There's a hidden navigation system and air conditioning, luxuries that the original didn't offer. What the original also lacked was space. Many old cars are known for having limited interior space and being impractical for individuals over 1.90 meters. However, the manufacturer of the RML assures us that even people over 2 meters tall should have ample space inside.
