A look in the interior of the McLaren P1

Last week, we received the news that the production ready McLaren P1 would be presented at the Geneva Motor Show. We start to see more and more pictures of this McLaren. Today, we have the interior of the car for you. It looks a lot like the interior of the MP4-12C. This isn’t a bad thing, every button and switch at a McLaren has a specific function.

McLaren set their goal. They want to make the best driving car in the world, on the track as well as on the streets. To do this they don’t only need the newest technologies but the driver also has to feel secure and comfortable. That’s why the interior is completely focused on the driver and McLaren tried to distract you as less as possible. Despite the car has to be as light as possible, the car does have climate control, a navigation system and a bespoke audio system. Coating on the interior is an option but because of the weight reduction, McLaren will use the lightest materials they can find. There’s no sound isolation in the car and when you look at the interior you will see only carbon fiber. The P1 will have a 10,5 kilograms heavy seat which will be fixed on the best position for you. So when you want to do your friend a favor to let him drive your P1, you have to visit the workshop first.

We will probably have more details about the P1, next week. Details like the weight and power will probably be revealed in Geneva, by Ron Dennis himself.
