Over 16 years ago, KTM started building cars. The first one to arrive was the X-Bow GT, which required some getting used to, and now, for quite some time, the X-Bow GT-XR has been on the market, looking much more like a car, almost resembling a hypercar.
The X-Bow GT-XR is an impressive creation from KTM. Not only does it look incredibly cool, but it also performs exceptionally well. The core of the GT-XR, like in all X-Bow models, is the 2.5-liter inline-five-cylinder engine with turbocharging from Audi. It delivers a robust 500 horsepower at 6,350 RPM and produces 581 Nm of torque at 5,550 RPM. The entire driving force is transmitted through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission exclusively to the rear axle, where a mechanical limited-slip differential takes care of distributing power between the rear wheels. Weighing 1,130 kilograms dry, the KTM is said to reach a top speed of up to 280 km/h. It can sprint from zero to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds. To cope with such brute engine power, the car is equipped with a braking system featuring slotted and ventilated wave brake discs, as well as eight-piston calipers at the front and four-piston calipers at the rear axle. Optionally, the XR can be equipped with a ceramic brake system. ABS and ESP are always on board to ensure safety.
This particular X-Bow GT-XR was spotted in KTM's home country, in Klosterneuburg, Austria. It is made entirely of carbon fiber and comes with KTM's typical orange brake calipers.
