Villa d'Este 2016: Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo

As many of you must have already noticed: we were present at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este this year. While the 2002 Hommage and the Vanquish Zagato were the only world premieres there, it was an automotive party from the highest order. Bugatti also joins the fun. Not with a Chiron unfortunately, but the car they've brought with them truly makes up for it: the insane Vision GT!

It's all in the name, as they say. This car has been designed for the infamous PlayStation-game Gran Turismo, hence the 'GT' in Vision GT. The collaboration between Bugatti and Gran Turismo has been a good one, because it resulted in a design that would be more or less a teaser for the Chiron. The nose of the Vision GT is basically the same as the one that's being found on the Chiron, apart from some details that wouldn't be legal on the street. Same goes for the rear: only the huge spoiler can't be found on the Chiron.

We don't know anything much about the specs of this monster, but we suspect the engine from the Chiron or the Veyron has been put in it. So that means the Vision GT has at least 1001 hp at it's disposal. Here at Tivoli on Villa d'Este the Bugatti still draws quite a lot of attention, it's a true showboat after all. Secretly we dream about it: the Vision GT at the 24 hours of Le Mans. How amazing would that be?
