The models of Aston Martin, apart from the Vanquish, are all a bit dated. Yet still Aston Martin is going to have to hold it together until the DB11 comes to the market. To kill the time they now come with the Vantage GT8, the less gifted sibling of the GT12.
Only 150 examples are going to be made of the GT8. It's going to be the lightest V8 Vantage ever made. Aston Martin has shaven off 150 kilograms by using lightweight materials like carbonfiber. Those are serious numbers! The car has been fitted with new five-spoke rims in combination with Michelin Pilot Sport 2 Cup-tires. Semi-slicks for the open road, what a joy! Buyers can choose between a six-speed manual or a seven-speed automatic gearbox with flappy paddles. Both are being paired to a 446 hp V8 with a displacement of 4.7-litres. There isn't much else to it, apart from the huge spoiler on the rear deck it's the same song all over again: Weight reduction and optimization of the chassis so that the car is even more track-focused!
