In Monaco, a Porsche is the same as a Volkswagen in other countries. Nobody takes a closer look at Porsches. Unless you show up in a Porsche which is very exclusive. Think of a beautiful classic like the 550 Spyder or a modern Porsche such as the 918 Spyder which was spotted in Monaco by spotter Yantje!

Yantje managed to spot a very special copy. It's the first 918 Spyder in orange with this historical livery. The livery refers to the successful Team Salzburg. This team managed to be successful in racing with the Porsche 917 Kurzheck. This monstrous race car won the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1970. Porsche offers the 918 Spyder in this same historical livery. Several copies are already spotted in the Martini livery.

You can feel just a like a racing driver in the seventies. With the optional Weissach Package in the 918 Spyder, you can remove the airco and audio system from the car. It's weight reduction for those who wants a better performance on the track. We guess that Porsche will keep this as an option to satisfy those who want to have the Weissach Package and still some comfort with the air conditioning. In Monaco, you don't want to drive around without air-conditioning because you don't want to arrive at Club Jimmy'z completely sweaty. Remarkably, the 918 Spyder isn't spotted that often. It seems that Porsche has more trouble selling this supercar than they had with the already legendary Carrera GT.
