McLaren will bring some beautiful cars the prestigious Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. The MSO department built two bespoke models in commisioned by two customers. A 650S Spider and a P1. Both models will be limited to only one copy.
McLaren's MSO department wants to offer their customers more on the field of personalization, just like a lot of other car manufacturers. When car manufacturers don't do this, their customers will bring the cars to tuning companies. The McLaren has a few subtle bespoke options. It's the first time that McLaren shows these options, next to that, this is the 170th copy that is produced.
The bodywork of the P1 is painted in Stirling Grey, a rich metal finish which is combined with carbon fiber. Next to that, the exterior has McLaren Orange accents including the logo, calipers and some P1 logos. The back of the car stands out because of the remarkable golden heat shield. This material was already used in Formula 1. The rear spoiler is painted in the same colour as the exterior while the bottom does have bare carbon fiber. Small McLaren Orange accents create an edgy contrast. Eventually, the grill in the rear bumper is unique to complete the car.
Then there's the MSO 650S Spider. This car is created in cooperation with McLaren Newport Beach and McLaren Automotive Design Director Frank Stephenson. The exterior is painted in the blue colour Cerulean Blue. Several parts which are normally not painted are now painted in the same blue colour. These parts include the front bumper, air intakes and diffuser. In addition to other McLarens, this copy does not only have bare carbon fiber. The exterior is finished with chrome accents and a set of alloy wheels. This is the perfect car for California!
