Gumball 3000 2012: dayreport five, the start! Gumball D-day! The start of the rally took place yesterday and it was a blast! At 10 am everyone was expected for the drivers briefing. Unfortunately, the men behind the whole Gumball was fashionably late. After forty minutes of waiting Maximillian Cooper showed up for the briefing. After that he gave the start shot for the rally with his Co-driver E.V.E. The crowd was ready to wave us goodbye. And boy they did!

The ears of the crowd were given a symphony by our engines. The Ferrari 599 GTO did that very well with his V12. The morning of the start you already could enjoy the live stream on Times Square. Unfortunately this didn't work out very well and we couldn't show you what you expected from us. We hope that the upcoming days will be better and we will try to stream when possible! To give you an impression of the start you can take a look at the video below. It will give a good impression of how the start looked like from inside the car.

After we got out of the traffic of New York it was time to cruise through the beautiful nature of America. The first two hours we missed all the teams. But when we saw one it was the most spectacular car. The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport from the big boss of Trust drove up the freeway just when we passed. Not long after that it got pulled over by the police just to make some pictures. Then we began to meet several other teams like Galag, Oranje and DeLaRon. Toronto came in sight and after the border we got a warm welcome from a group of bikers that drove all the way to Toronto with us. Also there where people waiting on the side of the freeway for the Ballers, so cool! A warm welcome was very well organized in Toronto. There was a closed street where the cars could go full throttle to enjoy the crowd! The whole trip from New York to Toronto was good and comfortable.
