Geneva 2015: Porsche 991 GT3 RS

We’ve waited a long time for this car but it’s finally here. The Porsche 991 GT3 RS is shown on the Geneva Motor Show and it looks really brutal. The spyshots which we showed you before leave nothing to your imagination because the car looks a lot like these photos. The strange inlets on the front wheel fenders can still be found on the car just like the air intakes in front of the rear wheels. This car doesn’t have a turbo, luckily it still has enough power.

560 hp and 460 Nm of torque from a naturally aspirated six cylinder boxer engine is a performance that will satisfy every purist. Still we’re wondering how the real Porsche fanatics will respond to this car. The car doesn’t have a manual gearbox and you can only switch gears with the flippers behind your steering wheel. This will make the Porsche 991 GT3 RS less pure than its predecessors. 500 hp was only available for the Porsche 997 GT3 RS 4.0 before but now it’s also available for the 991 version. This engine also has an engine capacity of four liters but it’s completely redesigned. Let’s hope that this engine won’t bring as much trouble as the 991 GT3’s engine. Porsche has learned from their mistakes so we guess that this will be a perfect track ready car.

The car is made out of different materials. The roof is made out of magnesium while the spoiler at the back and the seats are made out of carbon fiber. The body itself is made out of aluminum which results in a reduced weight of 10 kilograms compared with the GT3. The front of the car is five centimeters wider than the 991 GT3 and two centimeters at the back which makes it look even more aggressive than its popular but less powerful brother. The 911 GT3 RS sprints to 100 kph in 3.3 seconds and from zero to 200 kph in 10.9 seconds.
