DIY Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Spider, is it safe?
The challenge: Make an Aventador Spider with quite a power upgrade before Lamborghini itself makes it. That’s quite a challenge for most of the companies. Especially because the Aventador LP700-4 is a complex car which is tested for years to guarantee the stiffness of the chassis. You can’t just cut the roof out of this chassis and call the car an Aventador Spider.
When we say complex we mean the carbon fiber monocoque of this Lamborghini. When you cut out the roof it will lose its stiffness and this can be very dangerous. Refined Marques doesn’t agree with us and they cut out the roof of this Lamborghini. A removable hardtop is placed on the car to stay dry when it suddenly starts to rain. An titanium exhaust from Oakley design is placed underneath the car which saves 35 kilograms of weight. This and a few other adjustments give the car an extra 60 bhp on top of the already impressive 700 bhp. We are wondering how safe it is to drive this car and we suggest everyone to wait for the official Lamborghini version because they will guarantee that their car will be safe.
